November maintenance window closed

The November maintenance window will begin at 09:00 CET on 5 November.

• Login nodes will be restarted.

• All systems will receive important bug fixes and security updates.

• The queues will be stopped for Pelle, Rackham and Snowy.

• We are doing maintenance on the clusters preparing to take parts of the storage system Gorilla in production. During the final sync of data all file system access will be stopped. All nodes in Pelle, Rackham and Snowy will be stopped.

• Other than this, no changes are planned. But as always, there is an increased probability of minor glitches or outages.

The reservations for Pelle, Rackham and Snowy have now been removed. Jobs can run again. The login nodes will restarted, but not stopped. We are planning to do a rolling update for Pelle, Rackham and Snowy.

Work continues on bringing Gorilla in production. After the service window, it should be possible to mount Gorilla on Pelle, Rackham, and Snowy, as well as on the few other systems where Crex and Domus are currently mounted. We are working now on the data migration.
