April maintenance window closed
The April maintenance window will begin at 09:00 CET on April 5.
- No queues will be stopped.
- The UPPMAX Cloud WILL be stopped.
- All systems will receive system updates and security fixes.
On April 5th, we will be performing a major upgrade of the UPPMAX Cloud platform. This upgrade is expected to enhance the platforms stability and performance, as well as simplify the integration of our upcoming cloud storage system. The work is expected to take at least 12 hours, and may continue into April 6th. During the upgrade, access to the cloud will be restricted. Please note that you will not be able to create new cloud resources during the most critical parts of the upgrade, and access to existing virtual machines (VMs) is expected to drop several times.
Any disturbances on the accessible systems while the service window remains open should be assumed as related to the service window. Please hold contacting the support until the service is announced completed. You can follow our progress on this page throughout the day.

We have a fix in place and things should start to work better. We will monitor this issue this evening, and hope to conclude this upgrade early tomorrow morning.
Update 2023-04-12 12:00
The portal is temporarily open again, but please note that VMs are NOT yet
accessible. We are making progress, but slowly. The remaining issue is with
attaching private and external networks. The networking component in OpenStack
(neutron
) has not assigned the interfaces to the correct linux bridges. The
problem is obvious and appears to affect all projects. Why this happens is
unfortunately not yet known.
Update 2023-04-11 13:00
The issue with nova-scheduler is solved. We are now rebuilding the external network ports, which will give you access to existing VMs. After that we will re-open the cloud again.
Update 2023-04-11 08:00
There is unfortunately an issue with the nova-scheduler (the component which schedules the virtual machines) after the upgrade to OpenStack 20. We are investigating this issue now. You will not be able to login at this moment. We appreciate your patience and hope to have this issue fixed as soon as possible.
