January maintenance window closed

The service on Wednesday 9th of January begins at 09:00 and affects all systems. All systems will get bug and security updates. We will also perform a minor reorganization of the software-tree for our clusters. The queues on Rackham, Snowy, Irma and Bianca will be halted during the reorganization. For systems you are able to access via ssh, sftp, ThinLinc etc. you will likely lose access at one or several point during the day as we restart the login service. In general if you experience strange things while the service window remains active, please assume it’s related to the service window and hold off contacting the support. If the problems remain after the service window has been closed you are of course welcome to contact the support at support@uppmax.uu.se.

You can follow our progress on this page throughout the day.

Service completed for Rackham and Snowy. The only remaining system is Bianca - which we are still working on.

Update 2019-01-09 15:00

Service on Irma completed. Rackham and Snowy is now open for access but we are still holding the Slurm queues a little while longer. You may submit jobs but they will not start until we release the queues. Service on Bianca is ongoing. It normally takes a bit longer to properly service Bianca due to the additional layers of multitenancy and security.
