New Backup Procedure on Pelle open

The migration from the old storage system Crex to the new system Gorilla has now been completed for all projects on the Pelle cluster. As part of this transition, project data has been reorganized and file system paths have changed. In many cases, several smaller projects have been consolidated into a single project directory.

We would like to draw your attention in particular to an important change in the backup procedure. Previously, entire project directories were backed up by default. This is no longer the case. From now on, only data stored in the designated “backup” directory within each project is included in backups. Any data outside this directory will not be backed up.

This means that all users must review their data and ensure that any files that need to be preserved are placed inside the “backup” directory.

What you need to do:

• Review your project directories in Gorilla
• Move any important data into the “backup” directory

We suggest that this is done promptly to ensure that critical data is protected.
