Issues with ThinLinc on Rackham closed

We are seeing issues with frozen ThinLinc sessions on the GUI node in Rackham rackham.uppmax.uu.se. As we have made no updates or changes to our ThinLinc configuration we believe these issues is related to an increase in users who are requesting this service. To meet the demand we will in the coming days add dedicated hardware for ThinLinc users.

It is important that you do not run jobs on the login node. The login nodes are your gateway to the compute nodes. They should not themselves be used for computations. If you do you will be throttled to a single CPU core and you will receive an email from us alerting you that your job is running on a login node. Please use the interactive command or schedule your jobs using sbatch.

If you have any questions please contact support@uppmax.uu.se.
